AL East Predictions

By:Ryan
With baseball season under way baseball's toughest division starts out hot. With the juggernauts of the Yankees and Red Sox reloaded for the season, the Rays and the Blue Jays wait for their chance to come and then there are the Orioles just hanging in their. This division maybe a surprise to some people so here are my predictions on how this division will turn out.

1. New York Yankees
This team won the division last year and will likely win it again. Not really anyone else in the division can stop them from doing so. The main issues are is if Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, and Robinson Cano can perform well this year and stay healthy most of the year.
2. Tampa Bay Rays
This team will likely surprise people with a young rotation and great hitters. These guys could possibly make a run at new york but will just settle for having the wild card.
3. Toronto Blue Jays
This is a solid line up with Jose Bautista of course leading the team. They will probably end up one game ahead of the Red Sox.
4. Boston Red Sox
This will be a down year for the Red Sox trying to adjust to Bobby Valentine. The final day collapse will transfer over for this year and the Red Sox will miss the playoffs.
5. Baltimore Orioles
Finally the Orioles, these guys will continue rebuilding and might be a contender in a couple years.

Well there are my predictions for the AL East, we'll just have to see how the season goes.

    Carrier Classic

    By: Ryan and Luke
North Carolina beat Michigan State on the USS Carl Vinson. President Obama made an appearance at the game. The USS Carl Vinson was docked in San Diego and at the game there was a fly over. You would never see that at a basketball game. They're going to be doing that a lot more often because the game got really great reviews. This was a very great game for our armed forces and it was amazing that they played on an aircraft carrier. This game was amazing and it was fun for the troops and everyone watching at home.

    College Football Top 10 Predictions

    By:Ryan and Luke
College football is starting soon (Sept. 1) and the AP poll came out today. So here are our top 10 predictions for this next college football year.

10.South Carolina- Marcus Lattimore was great last year and he was a freshman. Stephen Garcia was reinstated and they won the SEC east last year. Florida and Georgia will give them some competition, but South Carolina will win the east this year.
9.Boise St.- Every poll is so nice to Boise St. because they go undefeated jut about every year. Boise St. plays such an easy schedule, TCU and Georgia are their only competition.
8.Texas A&M- A lot of people underestimate Texas A&M, but with talks of moving to the SEC, they have gained our respect. Look for them in a good bowl game.
7.Florida St.- Florida St. will easily win they ACC but they would probably get the worst BCS bowl against an at-Large team.
6.Stanford- Andrew Luck is the Heisman favorite this year and if they do good, they could win The Pac-12 north if Oregon doesn't stop them.
5.Nebraska- With the new season starting in the Big Ten, Nebraska is the team to beat in the Big Ten. With Burkhead at running back, Nebraska will win the Inaugural Big Ten Championship game.
4.LSU- Even though Jordan Jefferson is suspended, LSU is still a great team, but they won lose two games this to Alabama and Oregon.
3.Oregon-Oregon is just as good as last year. If they can beat LSU and Stanford and also win the first Pac-12 championship, they could be in the title game again.
2.Oklahoma-Oklahoma is an amazing team, but with the Big 12 crumbling they may be in the title game but not champions.
1.Alabama-The SEC has won the past 5 championships and there is no reason to bet against the SEC. Trent Richardson is an outstanding halfback the SEC will win their sixth straight championship.

    Trevor Bayne- Daytona 500 Champion

    By:Ryan
Trevor Bayne won the Daytona 500! He is 20 years old and this is his second start. He doesn't even have a full time ride but he'll get one now. That was the Wood Brothers first win in 10 years. He's added to the greats.
When David Regan was black flagged he took the lead and held during the green, white , checker. I mean no one even heard of him until now. He won in front of a sell out crowd. Even The King was there to congragulate him. Many drivers say Trevor Bayne is a great guy and they're excited for him. He will be remembered for the rest of the year. Good for Trevor Bayne.
